Metal and resin parts can be tricky as they need to be particularly clean and sometimes do not "dry fit" very well together. Metal and resin parts will require superglue or an impact adhesive to join them together.
Dry fit is a process of checking that two or more parts join correctly, like putting a head onto a models shoulders/neck to see if it looks right & fits correctly.
Plastic model parts will often "dry fit" together quite well and can be glued with superglue or impact adhesive (as above) or using polystyrene cement which can be a little easier to work with as it takes a few minutes to set but normally will hold parts together after a few seconds.
For plastic models my favourite option is liquid poly(styrene) the brands I use have a small applicator brush and I find them extremely strong and easy to use (and pretty clean & tidy).
